Katie M MacDonald joined the AWFC board in April 2022. Katie currently teaches sessionally at the University of Guelph, following the completion of her doctoral work on industrial hog production. Courses include sociology of food and agricultural systems, gender and rurality, and qualitative and observational research methods. Katie also sits on committees on the Guelph Humane Society board. Katie shares her home with three senior rescue dogs.
