Hannah Brown joined the AWFC Board in 2024. She was born and raised in London, UK, where she gained her LLB and qualified as a lawyer in 2009. She worked as a lawyer in London, UK before emigrating to Canada and settling in the Niagara region. She previously worked as the Legal and Project Manager for the UK Centre for Animal Law (ALAW) and the Criminal Justice System Reform Manager at Humane Canada. She has advised and lectured internationally on animal welfare law on a wide range of topics from animals in agriculture, animals in sport and companion animal welfare. She has spent the last 10+ years advocating for better laws for animals and enjoys using her knowledge of UK animal law to advance the legislative landscape for animals in Canada. She lives on treaty land 3, the traditional lands of the Hatiwendaronk, the Haudenosaunee, and the Anishinaabe, including the Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. She shares her home with her two cats (Prince Harry and Cricket), her sons and her husband.
