WHEN ORPHANS IN THE WILD NEED HELP, THE CALL IS ANSWERED

Imagine the agonizing hours an orphaned baby moose spends on the side of a highway, calling for her dead mother – and being alone, uncertain, and frightened.

Tragically, baby animals are far too frequently left orphaned, helpless in the wild, and waiting to be rescued.

Your donations to the Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada support life-saving efforts that make the difference for survival for individual wild animals, who rely on rapid-response rescue, assessment for trauma and injury, and surgery and rehabilitation when it is needed. It is often the difference between life and death, and your support of these efforts is critical.

"We opened the doors to our new wildlife hospital at the end of April. We knew that we would be busy, but did not anticipate the enormous need. We opened intentionally at the beginning of baby season, and have taken in many orphans, as well as all calls for sick or injured wildlife."

EVERYONE SHOULD BE ABLE TO CARE FOR AND LOVE THEIR COMPANION ANIMAL

We all cherish the profound bond we share with our pets. Yet, for many guardians, accessing veterinary care during a pet health crisis—or even securing basic treatment—remains out of reach due to geographic, financial, or personal health challenges.

This lack of access can worsen pet health and force the heartbreaking decision to surrender a beloved companion. Thanks to your generous donations, the Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada supports the Toronto Humane Society’s vital project to uncover barriers to veterinary care and develop solutions that keep pets and their families together.

There is no love quite like the love we give to our pets, nor the unwavering devotion we receive from them in return.

Your donation today will make the difference in the life of an animal. Please support our work to provide hope and healing to animals in need.

VIDEO: 60 YEARS OF LOVE, HOPE, AND IMPACT - BECAUSE OF PEOPLE LIKE YOU!

For over sixty years, the Animal Welfare Foundation of Canada has transformed the lives of countless animals. Our funded projects respond urgently to animals in crisis, educate children to foster empathy and compassion, and fund groundbreaking research that safeguards some of Canada’s most endangered wild species.

The requests for us to help have increased by 400% in just the last five years. That means we have to say yes to some requests, and no to others. It means leaving animals behind who are waiting for our help.

These are heartbreaking decisions, knowing we could be helping more animals, and funding the efforts of the good people who are on the front lines each and every day to make life better for all animals.

Your special support today will carve out a new future for animals in need. Will you help us say YES to more animals today by making a special donation?

At this time, you may feel disconnected when many things are uncertain in our world, but your empathy, your love, and your deep compassion for animals remains steady.

I am heartened by your commitment to help, and to uplift the lives of so many animals.

Thank you for stepping up today to help animals who need and deserve a brighter future.
